Cross-regional work

Working across boundaries

Groundwork Thames Valley is highly experienced in the challenges of working across geographical boundaries. Land ownership, the political agenda, government targets and different responsibilities can all cause problems. However the boundaries have little effect on the everyday lives of the people who live and work here.

Colne Valley Regional Park

Groundwork has been active in the Colne Valley for 16 years, regenerating open spaces, improving access routes and helping to influence local strategy. Our key role in the area has been recognised by a 3-year agreement with the Colne Valley Partnership. This includes co-ordinating the Action Plan, developing and delivering projects and managing the Colne Valley Park Centre.

Geographical Information System (GIS)

Groundwork utilises the Geographical Information System to help co-ordinate planning across administrative boundaries and to help involve local people in decisions on improvements and developments where they work and live.
