Groundwork Thames Valley (GTV) was commissioned by Milton Keynes Council Regeneration Team to work with them in Tinkers Bridge. Tinkers Bridge is an estate in the south of Milton Keynes with 411 homes and a population of just over 1,000 people.
GTV has been working with the local community on a range of initiatives to improve the area. In particular, the community requested help to overhaul the garden at Tinkers Bridge Meeting Place. The current space was used as little more than a route to the storage shed.
Many community groups use the meeting place and would benefit from an attractive and flexible space:
GTV secured a grant to kick-start the garden project and worked with local residents, Meeting Place staff and Milton Keynes Council Urban Design Team, who donated their time to the project.
Local users and residents of all ages are now enjoying their attractive and user-friendly community garden.
